Confession- I keep a Moleskin journal in my take-everywhere bag and I fill it with notes to myself (is that weird?!). Nonetheless, these are today’s contributions:
Chocolate brown bath towels are not a good choice when living somewhere with no screens.
When feeling less than pleasant towards “the husband” – play soul-filled love songs because they change my mood quick (Justin Nozuka “I’m in Peace” James Morrison “You Make it Real” and John Legend “Sun Comes Up”- just for starters).
The acceptable on-the-farm so stash-your-phone-in-your-bra when lacking pockets move is NOT acceptable in the grocery store…lots of raised eyebrows at my ringing and vibrating.
How was YOUR day?!

Notes to self today:
An early morning workout makes me feel good all day long.
Flowers make me happy.
Do not drive in a car with Bill when trying to teach the boys about patience and kindness.

I also keep a notebook but it’s usually filled with books that I need (want) to read. Nevertheless, I did have a few mental notes to self today:
I can’t believe how well acupuncture works.
I really love (and miss) watching basketball in person.
I can’t believe how mature Nathaniel has become.
Erik can really cook.

this made me laugh really hard with the whole phone in bra thing…
I would of paid to have been there cause it would’ve of been just that funny.

Looks like someone needs to buy some pants with pockets, or certainly a few shirts with pockets in the top left corner. . .
My Moleskin is everywhere I am. And I should’ve written in it tonight, but the internet took my attention hostage. But I would’ve written lots. I will share just a few:
1. I love giving things to the boys I work with, especially education materials like nature picture books because I know they’re not really learning at their satellite school anyway.
2. I am beginning to think I could actually get my MSW. I could actually go back to school. It could be done. I’m not there yet, but I think it’s accomplishable.
3. I am so thankful for people in my life whom heed to God’s voice and act as a conduit of His love, grace and faithfulness to me.

Too fun! I usually use mine for longer thoughts, but I love the idea of short little snippets of everyday life. I’ve been guilty of keeping my phone in my bra…now I know to make sure to take it out before going out in public
Here are a few from my day:
1. Blueberry pancakes are seriously so delicious.
2. I’m not the only person working out around dinner time on valentine’s day.
3. Judas may not just have been greedy for money…
4. The olympics are way fun to watch.

I don’t understand the bath towel thing….
1. Really need to stop grazing on chocolate if I want to lose weight.

…the dark towel explanation: I’ve had a few bug incidents, including one last week. There’s nothing quite like stepping out of the shower all nice and clean and toweling off, only to realize I’ve smeared bug on me. With my towels being so dark, I don’t aways spot the creatures that lurk on the towel surface… and with no screens, bugs inside in the summer are inevitable. Shame…

Your dark towel explanation is just another reason you need to come back here and live on my street. I’ll even pay your air conditioning bills for the first year as an incentive!
I liked “notes to self” so much that I’m giving you some more for today:
Snow days are good days for bubble baths.
If I can run and shower before 10am, I can conquer the world.
Need to ask friends about their infant-bath-techniques.
Don’t be scared of the insurance company website.

Oh my goodness, I hope you have some white towels and can use them lots during this season. lol.
You would be amazed at how big moths get around here also. I had never ever seen really large ones before, but one time last summer, we were outside playing in the evening with the kids. My 3 year old (at the time) was playing on her tricycle, when this huge moth landed on her chest. I freaked, had to calm myself down cause she was freaking out also. It landed just right so that it’s head was facing her face, and the wings were spread out across her abdomen. YUCK!!! At least they are harmless.

“Notes to self,” I like that. I do this, too – it’s not strange! Or else a lot of us are strange.
I always have a small notebook with me. I write down things after trips, too, things I know I would forget. I love to remember the small things in life. I think it’s in my blood because my great-grandmother would do the same thing. A family story is when she made a rare trip into town (this was SW Texas) and wrote, “Went to town today. Saw midget.”
You need to check out the book Harriet the Spy. She wrote down everything!

and look at you going african-style with your phone in your bra!

Why be embarrassed? At least you are wearing a bra.
