Dec 17 Not Your Ordinary PTA

We had a family dinner last night- with four generations of women together that share my bloodline.  Scary, right? But it was my grandma… I call her nana… that had me belly laughing.  My gram is a “proper” woman- she still doesn’t leave the house without dress clothes on and pearls donning her neck.  But last night… she made my jaw drop.  After our meal (and my grandma’s shock of discovering that I enjoy beer- which is another story in itself) we were gib-gabbing as only ladies can do.  Then my granmda started talking about her upcoming doctors appointments and her scheduled shower (my mom cares for her) with my mom the next day (today).  My Gram was insisting that my mom take the day off… and she said… “I’ll just take a PTA bath”.  Then, with a sheepish smile on her face.. she looked at me and Kitty and said… “you know what a PTA bath is, right?”  She hesitated, and my aunt filled in the acronym with “pits, tits, and ass”. That raised my eyebrows. Then my gram said… “that’s not how I know it” and we looked at her quizzically.  She put her head down for a brief moment- as if mustering the courage to say what was on her mind… and then she busted out with “p*%$y, tits, and armpits”.  OH MY COW. My jaw dropped… did my nana just say “p*!@y”.  Yes… yes she did.  Kitty and I locked wide eyes and Kitty blurted out “now I don’t feel bad about that beer!”  It was hysterical.

I just spit out pop tart all over the laptop. This was hilarious. Oh my gosh hilarious.

PTA– I’ll never look at that word again without laughing.

wow, that was the best darn laugh I’ve had all day! Love it! I love even more when our grannies do things like this when we’re older. Mine’s been gone for about 6 years, but she cut some good ones like this that made me blush! Precious!! PTA! :)

Hilarious! Isn’t that just something when our grandparents remind us that they are real people too. My husband’s Grandma, a gentile catholic woman, is very candid with me. When we were visiting with her outside of a hospital once (her husband was recovering there) she told us a story that somehow involved comparing herself to a playboy bunny! I didn’t know what to do! laugh? cry? wow.

OH.MY.WORD!!! I think I would have passed out! those prim and proper ladies are just as crazy as us, just don’t show it as much!
thanks for sharing…my grandmas had passed before I out of kindergarten….so needless to say, I can not imagine my “grannies” saying anything like that!

Oh wow…that is disturbing and funny all at the same time. Sadly, Erik refers to a “PTA” bath as a “Whores” bath. Your acronym is much more polite.
