Apr 29 Pillow Mountain

The last couple of days have been unusually cold- in fact we actually had snow flurries yesterday. This is very traumatic to Silas, who has embraced Spring with such vigor that we’re usually outside walking (or waddling- as I do) around the block by 8am. Being confined once more to inside play space is too recent a winter-made prison to be visiting again. So, today I was determined to create some indoor fun- and we actually had a blast. I don’t know why I hadn’t had this idea sooner. So… welcome to Pillow Mountain. All the couch cushions and every pillow we own was thrown into the middle of the family room floor- and quite an impressive pile towered above Silas’ head. For the next hour- he climbed and jumped and I tickled him and enjoyed his squeals as he delighted in this new game. Then, we busted out some “tunnels.” Silas is totally in to crawling under/through anything he can right now… so we used the furniture and the pillows, and lots of blankets to create tunnels all around pillow mountain. It was great…

we are having a similar day… it is cool here in SC, getting COLD tonight. And today I’ve spent time with my pillow too! I had a very busy Monday and Tuesday morning, so this afternoon my pillow on the day bed and I hung out together. and now I get to go blanket my plants in the garden so they don’t freeze tonight with temps lower than 40!
